Female header (pin socket), a type of connector.
1. Applications: This connector is widely used in PCB circuit boards for electronic devices, electrical appliances, and instruments.
2. Function: It acts as a bridge between interrupted or isolated circuits on a PCB, carrying current or signal transmission. It is typically paired with pin headers for board-to-board connections, used with electronic wire harness assemblies for board-to-wire connections, or can be used independently for board-to-board connection.
3. Classification: By pitch, it is commonly available in 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.27mm, 2.00mm, 2.54mm, 3.96mm, and 5.08mm (custom special pitches can also be made on request). By number of rows: single-row female header, double-row, triple-row, quad-row, etc. By mounting method: SMT and DIP (straight or right-angle). By installation orientation: 180°, 90°, and SMT. By standoff height and locating posts: with or without locating posts — two locating post types are available: internal locating posts and ear-type locating posts. Female header contact types: U-type and Y-type terminals (U-type contacts have three contact surfaces and are generally used for lower-profile housings; Y-type contacts have two contact surfaces and are generally used for higher-profile housings).
Note: Please insert and remove pin headers and female headers slowly. Especially when unplugging pin headers, try to ensure both ends are pulled out evenly at the same time to avoid damaging the pins.
