Female header, a type of connector.

1. Application: This type of connector is widely used in PCB circuit boards in electronics, electrical appliances, and instruments.

2. Function: Its function is to serve as a bridge between blocked sections within a circuit or between isolated, non-conducting circuits, undertaking the task of current or signal transmission. It is usually used in conjunction with pin headers to form board-to-board connections; or used in conjunction with the ends of electronic wire harnesses to form board-to-wire connections; it can also be used independently for board-to-board connections.

3. Classification: According to pitch, it can be roughly divided into seven categories: 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.27mm, 2.00mm, 2.54mm, 3.96mm, and 5.08mm (other special pitches can also be customized as needed); according to the number of rows, there are single-row female headers, double-row female headers, triple-row female headers, four-row female headers, etc.; according to packaging usage, there are SMT surface mount, DIP through-hole (straight/right-angle), etc.; according to installation method: 180 degrees, 90 degrees, SMT; according to whether height increase is needed and whether positioning posts are needed, there are 2 types of positioning posts, one is an inner positioning post, and the other is an ear positioning post; female header terminal types: U terminals and Y terminals (U-shaped terminals, with contact on 3 sides, generally used for low plastic height; Y-shaped terminals, with contact on 2 sides, generally used for high plastic height).

Note: Please insert and remove pin headers and female headers slowly, especially when removing pin headers, try to ensure that both ends of the pin header come out at the same time, so as to avoid damaging the pins.
